This is a program that allows you to run your document scanner from the command line. This is useful if you are writing programs that need to scan documents without the user having to choose settings and click buttons. One click in your program is all that is needed – CmdTwain does all the setting and saves the document in a file. It should work with any scanner that meets the TWAIN standard. CmdTwain supports color, grey scale or black and white. You can choose the quality of the scan (dots per inch) and save it as a BMP, JPG or PDF file.

  • Supports most paper sizes. American, European, Australian.

  • Supports color, black and white or greyscale.

  • Creates standard graphics formats. This includes Windows bitmap files, the more universal JPEG files used throughout the internet, and PDF format.

  • Easily flick through your documents. The JPEG files are displayed in Windows Explorer (Choose: View, Filmstrip) or double-click one to use the "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" to scroll through larger versions.
